Town of Huntington Councilman
Back in 1994, many storefronts along Larkfield Road remained empty and the East Northport was looking very depressed. Stuart Besen, a young lawyer, teamed up with a few other energetic hopefuls to pool their ideas on how to revitalize the area. In June, 1994, the East Northport Chamber of Commerce was officially formed under their leadership and guidance. Today, Stuart continues to work with the Chamber while devoting many hours to his law practice of Besen and Trop LLP. In 2005, he was elected to serve as Councilman on the Huntington Town Board. Since his election, Stuart has been a forerunner in many Town initiatives including the installation of synthetic multi purpose recreational fields; environmental issues, hybrid vehicle incentives, recycling presentations, solar power fast track programs; sexual predator legislation including innovative mapping program and accessory rental apartment restrictions, etc.
Since this businesses arrival in the East Northport area, they quickly became a favorite eatery of many. This unique store offers so much more than what is stated in their company mission: "A loaf of bread in every arm". They offer a spectacular array of baked goods, soups, salads, sandwiches, etc. They, too, have been extremely supportive to the East Northport Chamber since opening their doors here. In fact, ask any Chamber member, one of the best attended meetings is the breakfast meeting at Panara Bread. It’s a great place to sit and relax with a newspaper, laptop or chatting with friends. Be sure to visit Panera Bread on Jericho Turnpike
In 1949, it started with four kids, a few stuffed animals and one ferris wheel. Today Newton Shows has 26 rides in tow and is the biggest carnival operator in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk. Headquartered right here in East Northport, Lewis J. Newton & Sons continues to be a ‘one of its kind family owned carnival concessionaire’ among the estimated 500 such traveling carnivals across North America. Out of seven Newton children, only two, John and Mike, joined as “carnies” in the family business. Their mottos for success include being partners in fun, their experience in planning and promoting successful events, presenting safe, quality amusements with enormous attention to detail and assistance in helping their clients attain their fundraising goals.

This is a high energy, enthusiastic and multi-talented group of musicians. They specialize in soul rockin' blues and they do it exceedingly well. Their new CD, BORN TO CRUISE, proves it! They rock hard and deliver their stuff with decidedly edgy attitude. The CD sounds like it's recorded live at a rocking jukejoint! Sit back, or stand up and dance, while you hear the sounds of Gary US Bonds and the early Beatles all revved up! Watch out for Joe both on and off stage. He loves audience participation while he's entertaining!
This versatile and entertaining group of musicians has been together as a group since 1990 and continues to bring forth both the best of country and classic rock music. They have been performing at the East Northport Festival for many years. Their repertoire has grown tremendously over the years to the point where there are few country requests they can't fulfill. SOUTHBOUND continues to be the area's top country dance band and their wealth of experience has brought them to the forefront of the Country Music Scene.
Join us and take a journey into the soul of one of the hippest bands of all time. SOUL BE IT is a 12 piece horn driven powerhouse ensemble dedicated to reigniting a concept that has been lost throughout the years. Dig in as the fully charged musicians of Soul Be It perform some of the hottest tunes from the baddest artists of the last four decades. With their brassy-rich grooves, tight right turns and bleeding ballads, Soul Be It guarantees a performance like no other. Their repertoire contains tunes by Chicago, Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, Blood Sweat & Tears, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder and of course James Brown, among numerous others. We guarantee this is performance will rock the park till closing at 11:00 pm.
The East Northport Chamber is pleased to introduce another new band to our stage in John Walsh Park. Beginning at 2:30 pm, VISTA HILL will take charge. This band offers feel good, adult contemporary music that appeals to a wide range of listeners. They have recently released their new album, Looking For Tara. Come and enjoy this band. They promise to entertain in such a way that appeal no matter what the generation of music you're accustomed to.
